The Importance of Fence Panel

Posted on: September 6, 2011

Great fencing is the secret to enjoying your garden this summer. To ensure that your garden fencing is in tip top condition, it is probably a good idea to have a look round your garden right now in the early spring, to see if there are any repairs or renewals of fence panels and/or fence posts required.

Ok so you have had a look round and have surveyed for damage to your fence posts and fence panels and you are now ready to carry out some maintenance.

As a first step I would suggest that if shrubs or tree branches are rubbing and chaffing on the fence unnecessarily, it’s a good time to get the secateurs and pruning saw out and cut these back so they are clear of your fence posts and fence panels.

Secondly if the fence panels look a little dull and lack lustre maybe it's time to brighten them up with some fencing stain or timber treatment, which can be done quite quickly and cheaply.

If however you don't believe maintenance is required and in fact your fencing posts are broken or your fence panels are really dilapidated, then I would suggest the following.

Firstly decide if this is a job that you are able to tackle yourself or whether you need a fencing or landscaping contractor to visit you and provide you with a quotation for renewing the fence panels & fence posts.

If you need a contractor then I would recommend searching for one with Yellow Pages or Checkatrade.com, but if you have decided to tackle the job yourself or are not sure what types of fencing are available, there is a great website that can help you with this, it is www.AVSFencing.co.uk where you can see pictures of loads of different types of garden fencing and also check out pricing and buy your fence panels and fence posts on line. Why visit your local garden centre or DIY shed and struggle with putting fence panels onto your roof rack, when you can have a company like AVS Fencing deliver the products directly to your home.

In summary now is a great time to check garden fence panels and fence posts prior to the summer period, so that when the sun finally comes you can relax in your garden, without getting distracted by all the jobs that need to be done in the garden.
